Philippine Fashion Week proved to be a venue for young people to express their creativity through their outfit.
It was a smorgasbord of different personal styles.

Photographed on the street is Bruce Venida who wears a tribal-print top, OS Strangle bones neckpiece and a hat. Perfecting the look is his braided hair.

Fanny Serrano used a fiber common in the Philippines called “Piña” in his collection. His beautiful creations complemented with headpieces offered a romantic and enchanting feel. Needless to say, Serrano’s used of local fiber in his dresses is commendable both in design creativity and in the feat of promoting the local textile industry.

Renowned designer Michael Cinco showcased exquisite gowns during the launching of his fragrance “Impalpable” for one of Philippine’s biggest fashion and lifestyle brand Bench.

Veejay Floresca presented a quintessential collection that is inspired by his recent visit in the Big Apple. Jackets, coats, sleek gowns, knitted tops and skirts that uses local fabrics piña, jusi and barong, among others comprise Floresca’s “Women in New York”. With his ingenuity of integrating global aesthetic and indigenous flavor, Floresca once again proved that he is indeed a true visionary of design.

Model Krystal Espiritu photograhed before and during the show of Jerome Salaya Ang. Krystal, known for edgy and androgynous look, is one of the best models in the country both for fashion editorials and runway shows. Krystal has already walked at the Audi Fashion Festival in Singapore for designer Gian Romano.

A mythical mood was casted on the runway when Yvonne Quisumbing showcased her collection at the Philippine Fashion Week 2012. Models wore clothes such as tunic top paired with metallic pants, sheer dress ornamented with applique, and layered white and earthy toga. Completing the fabled atmosphere are headpieces designed by Nikki Luna.

“Romantic” a word that describes Chris Diaz’ design aesthetic.

Diaz took inspiration from the rich and opulent world of Nadia Leger, a wife to Polish painter Grabowski and later on to French artist Fernand Leger, for his Holiday 2012 collection. Silhouette was dark and feminine that uses velvet, faux fur, tulle, taffeta, lace, and whatnot on jewel tones such as emerald, amethyst, and peridot combined with magenta, carmine and black. Undoubtedly, the designer showed a solid and well-styled collection.

Dubai-based Filipino designer Albert Andrada presented a dramatic, and creatively inspired show at the Philippine Fashion Week 2012. White dresses; fluid, structured and form-hugging accentuated with bold headpieces and shoulders with gold and crystal embellishments were the major looks from the designer’s collection. With the well-choreographed show and masterly elegant pieces, Albert Andrada received a big applause from the audience.

Held on the 3rd day of the Philippine Fashion Week is the menswear show. We all know that suit is a staple of menswear. And as what designer Nick Hart stated, “The most important thing about a suit is probably the shoulder.” Hence, below are women who were spotted with blazers, shoulder pads and fringes.

Frederick Policarpio’s interpretation of the regal sport polo was demonstrated in his elegant and sharp menswear designs. Crisp and clean pieces with tight, fit and tapered cuts were mashed with bold colors of blue and gold, offering a modern approach to the traditional riding wear. Each look from the capsule collection is ideal for modern dandies.

Xernan Orticio, a graduate of Fashion Institute of the Philippines, presented his collection entitled STIGMATA at the second day of the Philippine Fashion Week 2012. The designer took inspiration from religious icons, stained glass figures and images of the holy saints which is translated into sharply tailored pieces in red color palette.

15-year old Samantha Gomez is the winner of Ford Supermodel Philippines 2011. After winning the contest, Samantha has done editorials and graced the covers for Philippines leading fashion magazines. She is represented by CalCarries.

French fashion designer Roland Mouret closed the Audi Fashion Festival 2012. Jumpsuit, wool jacket, felt, lace and applique dresses were some of the major looks at his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.
